Aster is a barn owl with a wide, open look, her large dark eyes set into a rounded heart-shaped face with a finely ridged edge. Her folded wings are carved in bold, deep feather ridges that sweep down to a long pointed tail, and a natural knot in the cedar shows on her back as a one-off marking.
She stands on a bark-textured log base with her talons carved onto the cut top, and the soft, hand-chiselled texture over her head and chest gives her a warm, tactile finish. At 600mm tall, Aster suits a patio, doorstep or garden wall. Like every carving we make, she’s chainsaw carved from cedar in the Forest of Dean and is one of a kind, making a distinctive handmade garden ornament or gift.

Care Instructions
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Place outside in FULL SHADE on a well drained spot.
This Owl is cut from a log which will over time dry out – cracking may occur and this should be viewed as a feature and not a fault.
To significantly reduce the risk of cracking please place your sculpture outside in full shade on a well drained spot.
In subsequent years the sculpture should be treated with preservative to ensure a prolonged life.
