Fern is a barn owl with a wide-eyed, innocent look, her round dark eyes set into a carved heart-shaped face with a deep central ridge and a long, defined beak. Her folded wings are cut in rich, layered feather ridges with scorched dark tips, giving a strong contrast against the pale, smoothly chiselled chest.
She sits on a dark, bark-textured log base with her talons carved onto the cut top, and from behind her rounded head and rear markings add plenty of character. At 600mm tall, Fern is a good size for a doorstep, patio or garden wall. Like every carving we make, she’s chainsaw carved from cedar in the Forest of Dean and is one of a kind, making a distinctive handmade garden ornament or gift.

Care Instructions
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Place outside in FULL SHADE on a well drained spot.
This Owl is cut from a log which will over time dry out – cracking may occur and this should be viewed as a feature and not a fault.
To significantly reduce the risk of cracking please place your sculpture outside in full shade on a well drained spot.
In subsequent years the sculpture should be treated with preservative to ensure a prolonged life.
