Lyra is a barn owl with a bright, alert look, her round dark eyes set into a finely ridged heart-shaped face above a long, sharp beak. Her wings are carved in crisp, layered feather ridges with darker burnished tips, and the fine chiselled texture over her head and chest is dotted with small flecks and natural knots in the cedar.
She stands on a dark, bark-textured log base with her talons carved onto the cut top. At 600mm tall, Lyra is a good size for a doorstep, patio or garden wall. Like every carving we make, she’s chainsaw carved from cedar in the Forest of Dean and is one of a kind, making a distinctive handmade garden ornament or gift.

Care Instructions
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Place outside in FULL SHADE on a well drained spot.
This Owl is cut from a log which will over time dry out – cracking may occur and this should be viewed as a feature and not a fault.
To significantly reduce the risk of cracking please place your sculpture outside in full shade on a well drained spot.
In subsequent years the sculpture should be treated with preservative to ensure a prolonged life.
