Nutmeg the Long Eared Owl
In stock — ready to shipNutmeg is a tall, upright long eared owl sculpture, hand carved from cedar and finished in a deep chestnut stain that gives her the warm, spiced colour behind her name. Two swept-back ear tufts frame a broad, dished face, and her amber eyes give her a wide, steady stare.
Her chest is gouged by hand into a dense, honeycomb pattern of scooped feather marks, while her folded wings are cut in broad, overlapping ridges that curve down to a tapered tail. She grips the cut top of a bark-carved log base with long, detailed talons and stands a full 760mm tall, so she makes a striking wooden owl garden ornament for a gatepost, patio, porch or woodland border. Like every carving we make, she is chainsaw carved in the Forest of Dean and is one of a kind, a handmade owl that works equally well as a garden feature or a gift.

Care Instructions
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Place outside in FULL SHADE on a well drained spot.
This Owl is cut from a log which will over time dry out – cracking may occur and this should be viewed as a feature and not a fault.
To significantly reduce the risk of cracking please place your sculpture outside in full shade on a well drained spot.
In subsequent years the sculpture should be treated with preservative to ensure a prolonged life.
