Maple is a pale, hand carved barn owl who looks straight out at you, her glossy black eyes set wide in a smooth, shallow heart-shaped face rimmed with fine combed lines. Left in the natural honey tone of cedar, she has a clean, bright look that suits a lighter, more modern garden.
Her folded wings are cut in tidy rows of feather ridges, each scorched darker at the tips, and sweep down in long, straight flight feathers to a pointed tail. The body is shaped by hand with soft, scooped chisel marks, and she stands on the sawn top of a bark-carved log base with her small, neat talons gripping the edge. At 650mm tall, Maple is a mid-size wooden owl sculpture for a doorstep, patio, garden wall or flower bed. Like every carving we make, she is chainsaw carved in the Forest of Dean and is one of a kind, a handmade garden ornament that also makes a thoughtful gift.

Care Instructions
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Place outside in FULL SHADE on a well drained spot.
This Owl is cut from a log which will over time dry out – cracking may occur and this should be viewed as a feature and not a fault.
To significantly reduce the risk of cracking please place your sculpture outside in full shade on a well drained spot.
In subsequent years the sculpture should be treated with preservative to ensure a prolonged life.
